What a cornball

Well, I finally got around to getting my big box of CD's over to my house from my parents' and started ripping them to my desktop. It follows that I've been listening to all kinds of alternative music from a scene in my past. I've already been made fun of for having a Seal album to which I respond: If Seal is good enough for Heidi Klum, he's good enough for me. The album that made me cringe when I found it was KoRn. The CD I found that I'm most looking forward to listening to so far is Harvey Danger - Where Have All the Merrymakers Gone? I don't think I listened to it much when I first bought the CD so I'm interested to see what they have to offer besides "Flagpole Sitta".

I shaved my head.

Going to hike some AT on Tuesday then it's off to Hawaii for two weeks on the 19th.

Operation: Escape from Rhode Island was a success although we did almost run out of gas on our midnight run from the state. No word yet on whether or not the denizens know that the name of their state makes no sense.

Me and the roommates have got to be the worst decider's/movers ever. And when I say me I mean them. So our lease ran out on our house. We are all moving out. Chris visits. Chris decids to quit his job and move back. Cue Operation: Escape from Rhode Island. Singing ensues. We return home safely. We move out. Roommates decide to renew lease on house. We all move back in two days after moving out. Tiredness ensues.

It's a complicated story, but I'd like to document it, so I'll try and be brief.

I got a job as an RA in the dorms next year twisting tender college psyches with my iron fist and I was all set to move out of my house at the end of the lease. I still wanted to live in Newark for the summer so I applied for an open position as an RA in the Towers this summer for 23 Middle Eastern and North African students. I lost out on that job to someone with previous RA experience. They liked me however and asked me to work with them in another capacity, but could I email so and so, blah blah blah. So I have, but this new guy has yet to get back to me. So, if you're still with me that leaves me with no summer job and no place to live in Newark. I'm moving back home. Lease ends. I pack. I move. Enter Chris. Ah, Chris. See above. Roommates decide to renew lease (the landlords love us...even though Chris hides from them) without me on it and I decide to rent out a room there for the summer so they can put off finding a new roommate. Everyone is happy. Well, except maybe my family because I'm not moving home, but I'll see them plenty this summer. We're going to Hawaii for two weeks.

Also, I have a temporary job with a very lenient schedule finishing a basement for some rich white people in North Wilmington. Don't ask why I deem it necessary to label them white. Suffice to say they are always bringing us down...

So there you have it. School, work, Operations, moving, singing, and quitting all in one post. It's like a Lifetime original movie but less heartfelt and with better actors. Also the main male character doesn't beat his girlfriend and end up in prison...but hey, you think of a better simile.

Heading up to Rhode Island tomorrow. I'm excited. I've never been there before. I think I have to go through Connecticut to get there so I'll be able to say I've gone there as well. Bon voyage!

Man, I have no clue about this round. I played rock, paper, scissors (best out of three) with my roommate to come up with these "predictions".

I like the Red Wings pick...they're so tough to pick against in the playoffs. Not sure if I like the Ottawa pick, but I'll be pulling for them.
